Damchae Dem, CEO/Founder

14795880_776648519140614_1187420300_oDamchae Dem completed Secondary High school from St.Helens Convent, Kurseong, Darjeeling. In 2006 she pioneered Steel manufacturing in Bhutan. Her company  Pelden Enterprise Limited (www.peldenenterprise.com) manufactures Ferro alloys and is FDI partner with GIC- RE in the Reinsurance Business.

Her passion however is Bhutan Association of Women Entrepreneurs (www.baowe.org) which she founded in 2010 with the aim to reach out and help marginalized women and unemployed youth discover their entrepreneurial skills. What motivated her were the early days of hardship which prompted her to make and sell potato chips. She believes society’s biggest failure is poverty with the solution too being society a loving compassionate one, together looking for solutions enabling people to live with hope and dignity.

Tshering Wangmo,  Project Coordinator

Tshering Wangmo has been working with BAOWE since 2012 as a Project Coordinator.

She is 19184205_10155319126714029_1461931813_nresponsible for handling Rural Development Projects,Community mobilization and implementation/coordination of  livelihood projects in Trashigang, Zhemgang & Trongsa Dzongkhags.  (http://baowe.org/advancing-economic-opportunity-for-women-and-girls) . She has a degree in B.A Economics and Environment from Sherubtse College, Kanglung, Bhutan.

She is the Gender focal person of the organization and has attended various trainings on the subject.   She is currently handing Project CDTA 9016 BHU Project “Decentralization Coordination and Partnerships for Gender Equality” ) funded by  ADB.

Tshering Pelden,  Project Coordinatortpee

Tshering Pelden completed her Degree in Bachelor in Business Administration Sikkim Manipal University India. She joined BAOWE in 2013 as the focal person addressing Urban Poverty. She is currently looking after the Project titled Women’s Own Open Market (http://baowe.org/womens-own-open-market-2/).  She has actively participated in the rural Project, implementing ”Energy Efficient Fuel wood Cooking Stove” project funded by Ministry of Economic Affairs under the Department of Renewable Energy (BRSBE Project).

Yangchen Lhamo, Project Coordinator

Yangchen Lhamo is responsible for coordinating Project : BAOWE Pelzing  in twenty Dzongkhags. She has completed a Degree in B.com Accounting from Gaeddu College of Business studies,Bhutan.19349404_1687899961250718_858171855_o

She has participated in a training on “Women Entrepreneurs in Digital South Asia: Enhancing Business Communications By Social Media” organized by SAARC  Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council at Nepal.

She is team member for implementing CDTA 9016 (BHU) Project “Decentralization Coordination and Partnerships for Gender Equality” and assistant to Finance Officer in managing RORUM (Credit Cooperative).

Namgay Wangmo, Finance Officer

namNamgay Wangmo has been an employee of BAOWE since October 2010 and is the focal person for RORUM Credit Cooperative and BAOWE – Pelzhing (Micro finance Institution).

Lobzang Dorji, Project /admin 19349404_1687899961250718_858171855_oOfficer.

Lobzang Dorji joined BAOWE in 2017 as Project Officer assisting the team on Projects across Bhutan.

He is recipient of UNESCO Junior Research Fellow Chapters Bhutan at UNESCO Institute of South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation, Pondicherry University, India earned MA in International Relations and Foreign Diplomacy, PG Diploma in Human Rights and PG Diploma in Rural Development. He completed his Degree from Sherubtse College majoring BA History/Dzo.

He has participated in various training and seminar both in National and International Arenas.
